Domain Verification Process for New Domains
Whenever you add a new domain to your Zesty instance, a brief domain verification process is required to ensure ownership and properly register the domain.
Here are the steps you'll follow:
Step 1: Receive the Verification Email
Once the new domain is added in your Zesty instance, the user (Owner, Admin) who performed this action will immediately receive an email. This email will contain two critical pieces of information:
- The verification code you need for the next step.
- The expiration date for the verification. Please complete the process before this date to avoid having to start over.
Step 2: Update Your Domain's DNS Record
You must take the verification code from the email and add it to your domain's DNS TXT record.
- This process is managed through your domain registrar or DNS hosting provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Cloudflare, etc.).
- You will create a new TXT record and paste the verification code into the record's value field.
Step 3: Complete Verification via API
After the DNS changes have been published (which may take a few minutes), the final step is to formally register the domain with Zesty.
- The user who initiated the process must call the Verify Domain API endpoint.
- This API call signals Zesty to check the DNS record for the verification code, finalize the verification, and complete the domain registration.
Once these steps are complete, your new domain will be successfully verified and active on your Zesty instance.
